Inverclyde School of Dog Training has been running for more than 37 years. All the instructors are volunteers and as such receive no remuneration for their time. Everyone involved has a genuine interest in canine welfare and training with a particular emphasis on educating dog owners to ensure good relations between the dog owning and the non-dog owning community.
An annual Inverclyde Dog Training Club Fun Dog Show is held at Gourock Park in June attracting hundreds of dogs owners and spectators with fantastic agility and flyball displays, prizes and trophies, stalls and information.
The club are regularly asked to perform agility and flyball displays at local events and only recently joined with Inverclyde Council, Keep Scotland Beautiful and The Dog’s Trust in an initiative on responsible dog ownership.
The club receives no funding other than the course fee you pay and rely on donations, fundraising and a small profit from the sale of dog food and training aids.
 

OUR INSTRUCTORS

  MYRA - Myra has been training dogs for more than 12 years and having undergone studies for the last two years has become an Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour Approved Instructor. She has also been accepted as a member of the Professional Association of Applied Canine Trainers and is studying to become Kennel Club approved. Among other things Myra attends to the content and methods used in our training. She currently has three dogs and her interests include obedience, agility and flyball.

  

  WILLIAM - William has more than 12 years training experience and assists with course content and administration. He is the main on the floor trainer at the club allowing Myra to attend to one to one situations and advice sessions each evening.
